This series comprises program files related to mission efforts in Malaysia and Singapore and retained by the Lutheran Church in America (LCA) Division for World Mission and Ecumenism, Secretary for East Asia. These records were generated during the course of the Secretary for East Asia office providing administrative, financial, and technical support to mission efforts in Malaysia and Singapore. The records are from 1955-1987 but the majority date from 1968-1986. Types of material include meeting minutes, agenda, and exhibits; proceedings from consultations, project and grant applications and their accompanying material, newsletters, promotional pamphlets, typewritten and handwritten business correspondence, financial reports, budgets, topical reports, and statistical reports. Records are subdivided alphabetically by subseries. Of these subseries, three pertain specifically to indigenous churches with which the DWME worked in Malaysia and Singapore: the Basel Christian Church of Malaysia (BCCM), the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malaysia (ELCMS), and the Lutheran Church Malaysia Singapore (LCMS). The remaining subseries pertain to general correspondence and subject matter, projects and grants, and records related to the DWME-related Lutheran missionaries' association working in the region. Files are arranged alphabetically by subject.
